Knit a sheep

Free pattern for sheep

I used 3 ply yarn and needle size 4½ mm

Body

Cast on 20 stiches and knit 28 rows. Break the yarn and make the end long enough to sew the body together. Pull the thread through the stiches and sew the long sides together. You now have a tube, stuff it with cotton and put it aside.

Head

Cast on 10 stiches and knit 12 rows. Break the yarn. Pull the thread through the stitches and sew the long ends together. Stuff with cotton and put it aside.

Legs

Cast on 4 stiches and knit 12 rows. Break the yarn and pull it through the stiches, sew the long ends together and put it aside. Knit three more legs.

Ear

Cast on 2 stiches, knit 2 rows. Break yarn and pull it through the stiches. Knit one more ear.

Tail

Cast on 2 stiches, knit 3 rows. Break yarn and pull it through the stiches.

Now sew all the parts together as in the picture.
