Faroe Knitting

the place to buy Faroese wool!

Almost finished the knitting part

The pattern for this sweater is from the book Knitting with Icelandic Wool. It is called Æði.

Instead of the yarn in the pattern, I use Sirri  3-ply Blue C16, White and Light Gray.
I am knitting size XS on needles 8 mm, since it has 109 stitches, and I know this should fit me (Size M) in Sirri yarn. And then size L for the length of sleeves and body.

    Hi Hanne
This is really interesting! I have also thought about using Sirri yarn instead of Icelandic wool, but I’m not sure about the gauges. You do seem to knit the 3-ply with thick needles. Your jumper will be much lighter, but as warm, which is good! Good luck with your project!

That’s such a beautiful blue – can’t wait to see how it looks when you finish. I’ll maybe try knitting with Sirri this year (but steeking is still a bit above my level) :-)
